"The mark of great sportsmen is not how good they are at their best, but how good they are their worst."

Martina Navratilova

SALSC is a national organisation with a membership stretching right up from Orkney all the way down to Berwick, in total covering 27 of the 32 local authorities in Scotland. SALSC’s memberships encompasses over 3,000 sports clubs making it one of the largest governing bodies in Scotland and therefore one of the best at canvasing opinion from those in grassroots sport.

SALSC takes the role of representing the view of grassroots sport seriously and will use this page on the website to gather the views of the membership for external consultations. This will ensure the view of grassroots sport is represented in national consultations of relevance and that every member will have a chance to submit feedback either directly or through SALSC.

From time to time SALSC will also conduct its own consultations to seek the thoughts of the membership on certain topics. This allows the Board to get the mandate of the membership before moving into new areas of work.

Details of all consultations relevant to grassroots sport will be detailed below, along with all the necessary information including the closing date for responses, SALSC’s submission on behalf of the membership (where relevant and applicable) and the final report once published. Keep checking back to this page to make sure you get the chance to have your say!

Consultations are listed in date order (from order of consultation opening) and the closing date is detailed in the summary of each consultation but to make it possible to quickly identify what consultations are open or about to close the following traffic light system has been adopted:
