OTHER NEWSSCOTTISH ORIENTEERING ASSOCIATIONProfessional OfficerThe Scottish Orienteering Association is a volunteer led governing body of sport that looks after the interests of orienteers in Scotland. SOA are looking for a Professional Officer with specific responsibility for both major events (especially the Scottish 6 Days Event) and operations to join a small team of professional officers. The post holder will preferably have an understanding of orienteering, but must be able to demonstrate a track record in organising and managing events. You should be a team player with the ability to set and meet targets and to prioritise your workload. You will also be expected to show competency in using standard IT systems. We are looking for someone with a knowledge of working in a volunteer led organisation and some understanding of the demands of a national governing body. The full-time, permanent position, may be home-based or based at the National Orienteering Centre, Glenmore Lodge, Aviemore.
