NETBALL SCOTLAND

European Netball Championships

The European Netball Championships are being held at the Kelvin Hall this weekend on 15-17 February – please see attached the promotional flyer.

Names have just been released and I’m very pleased to tell you that four Renfrewshire players have been selected for Scotland’s Open squad, making up a third of the total number of Scottish players:

Morag Fraser
Sharyn Lyon

Additionally, Renfrewshire school girls will be ball girls for the opening match of England v Northern Ireland on Friday at 6pm, wearing Renfrewshire tops:

Emma Cook – Renfrew High
Amy McIntosh – Gleniffer High
Kirsty Palmer – Gleniffer High
Lee McPherson – Gleniffer High
Jennifer Jamieson – Gleniffer High
Susie Reid – Gleniffer High
Kirsty Sweeny – Gleniffer High

So a big Renfrewshire representation will be seen over the coming weekend which will be fantastic. I hope this positive representation can filter into our grass roots participation in Renfrewshire.
