"It's not necessarily the amount of time you spend at practice that counts; it's what you put into the practice."

Andy Logan, former Chair of ClubSport Ettrick & Lauderdale died peacefully at the Margaret Kerr Unit, Borders General Hospital on 9th February 2017 after an illness bravely borne. Beloved father of Leona, much loved and proud son of Ian and Liz and father of Bethany and Phoebe.
Andy was elected to the Executive Committee of Ettrick & Lauderdale Sports Council in 2003 graduating to Vice Chairman in 2004 and then onto the position of Chairman in 2006. During that time Andy made sure that the local clubs, athletes and coaches had the resources to develop to their full potential as well as juggling his own archery aspirations.
Many people knew Andy for his easy going way, however he was a strong willed competitor who knew he had a gift, and he had pinpoint accuracy with a bow and arrow. This would ultimately lead him onto the Scottish national stage winning his first indoor title in 1990, followed by winning a further four National titles in a row and eight national titles altogether. In 2005 he attended the World Field Archery Championship in Estonia and went onto become the European Champion a feat he would repeat in 2006 in Finland.
Andy was a member of the Redgauntlet Archery Club who had a course based at Elibank Forest near Innerleithen. In 2004; he was instrumental in obtaining a significant number of grants for the club to improve the course with a view to hosting the British Championships in the Borders. In 2005, Innerleithen would go on to host this prestigious event with Andy at the helm in his new position of Shoot Director for the Scottish Target and Field Archery Association.
Andy will be sadly missed for his dedication to sport in the Scottish Borders.
