Vivicitta is growing and growing!Creating awareness all over the worldBucharest, 20th of April 2008: The Italian ISCA member UISP expands the event Vivicittá to Romania. Around one thousand of people, under the banner “sport for tolerance and integration” (the same used in Rome on the 6th of April) were part of one of the most significant UISP events in 2008. “Vivicittá” – comments Filippo Fossati, UISP president – “was the first run open to all the people in Romania: there was enthusiasm and a lot of families, school groups and people of every age run in the streets of Bucharest”. The Members of the European Parliament support state monopolyTo ensure funding for sport and culture.On 3rd of April 2008, the European Parliament adopted a report on the White Paper on Sport from the Committee on Culture and Education. Wilfried Lemke of Germany is new UN special adviser on Sport for development and peaceUnited Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has appointed Wilfried Lemke of Germany as his Special Adviser on Sport for Development and Peace, serving on a $1 per year salary with the rank of Under-Secretary-General. Read more here. Challenge Day 2008!ISCA member SESC is main organiser of Challenge Day in the American continents. Challenge Day 2008 will take place on May 28th, and will encourage communities to engage in physical activity and make lasting effects for quality of life.
